How to Make Colloidal Silver

We have been using colloidal silver in our house for illnesses for about 10 years. My dad used to make fun of me saying that we were all going to turn blue. Remember that episode of Oprah with the blue man taking silver?! Then he found out that NASA uses colloidal silver for water purification on their space crafts and thought maybe we had the right idea after all. Follow along as I show how to make colloidal silver.

I’m just a mom using natural ancient methods of medicine for my family. This is what works for us. My family has responded well to silver for cuts, infections, sinus issues, ear infections,  and common colds.

A homeopathic doctor and a fellow homeschool mama taught me how to make colloidal silver a year ago, and I can’t believe I didn’t start making it sooner! It is so much less expensive and super quick and easy to make.

The device that was recommended to me by the homeopathic doctor that I use is called From Bora Simple Generator. It is super easy to use. It takes about 5 to 7 minutes to make a 16 oz batch of silver.

When I make silver, I make two 16 oz batches and store them in a glass brown jar. Our family of 5 uses about 32 ounces of silver over 4 to 6 months. Depending on if we have had illness or injury in the house.

How to make colloidal silver

Colloidal Silver Ingredients:

16 or 32 ounces of well filtered/purified water. Our water filter system is a reverse osmosis water system under the sink. It’s the best tasting water! I have a hard time drinking water anywhere else.

From Bora Simple Generator with pure silver rods.

16 or 32 ounce brown bottle.

A small stainless steel funnel.

A large stainless steel mason jar funnel.

Colloidal Silver Directions:

Depending on the simple generator that you acquire for making colloidal silver, you will want to follow the directions specifically for your device.

If you use the From Bora Simple Generator, start by filling a 16 or 32 ounce glass mason jar with filtered water. Stopping aboutn1 inch from the top ofnthe jar.

Prepare your silver rods by removing any debris or discoloration with the sanding sponge.

Attach the silver rods to the underside of the generator lid. Place the lid on top of the mason jar. The lid doesn’t screw on but sits on top of the jar.

Plug in the generator.  Turn on the generator. You will see tiny bubbles forming on the silver rods. The process of making silver is quick! Don’t let it go too long. You are aiming for around 10 parts per million.

After the machine has been running for 3 minutes,  power it off and check the water with the ppm meter. Ppm meters can be a bit finicky. If it is having a hard time reading the ppm of the silver in the water, turn on the generator and run for another 2 minutes.

Turn off the generator and check the water again. Check with the ppm meter. My silver often measures between 10 and 13 ppm.

The colloidal silver is now ready to be bottled. Store colloidal silver away from light and heat. Use a brown glass bottle.

Using the funnels, strain the colloidal silver with a filter as it funnels into the brown jar.

Store in your pantry or cupboard.

How to use Colloidal Silver:

We use colloidal silver for almost all ailments.

  • Stuffy/runny nose, use a dropper and put silver directly into the nose.
  • Eye infection,  put drops of silver directly into the eye.
  • Sore throat, gargle with silver, then swallow.
  • General cold, hold 5 mL under your tongue for 30 seconds, then swallow.
  • A cut, mix silver with a bit of aloe and place on the cut.
  • Or use colloidal silver for general immune health, 5mL hold under your tongue, then swallow.

Use silver several times a day for illnesses or once a day for general immune health.

I hope you enjoy the neat at home process of making colloidal silver. My boys always love watching the process.  It’s like a little science experiment every time we make it.
