Maple Cardamom Breakfast Sausage Patties

This savory and slightly sweet breakfast sausage is full of warm spices perfect for an autumn morning. Follow along as I make my favorite maple cardamom breakfast sausage patties.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Lb Ground pork
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp Cardamom
  • 1/4 Tsp Ground cloves
  • 1/3 Cup Maple syrup
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Butter, for frying

Instructions
 

  • Start by mixing together the meat, syrup, and spices. Gently roll together 8 to 9 balls of sausage mixture. Then slightly flatten the balls into a patty shape.
  • Preheat the skillet over medium heat with 1 tbsp of butter. When the pan is hot, add the patties, cooking 4 to 5 patties at a time. Flip the patties once they have browned on one side (cooking about 5 minutes). Once the patties have been flipped, reduce the heat to low/medium. If the oil is splashing too much, reduce the heat to low. Cook for about another 5 minutes. 
  • Move the cooked patties to the side of the pan so they stay warm. With the heat on low/medium, add the remaining patties to the skillet. Cook and flip until no longer pink inside.
