Raw Milk Ice Cream Recipe

Raw milk ice cream

We have been enjoying raw cow’s milk in our home for many years now. We are so fortunate to be able to get it from a local farm. There is nothing like the creaminess and flavor that comes with fresh raw milk. One of the most decadent way to use raw milk is to make ice cream with it. Here is my recipe for vanilla maple raw milk ice cream.

I use a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker. It’s so easy to use, and the ice cream takes about 35 minutes from start to finish. I like to store the ice cream in these 16 oz. ice cream containers and place a label on them. This also makes the perfect gift for a neighbor or friend.

There are many different flavors and mix ins you can do with this basic ice cream recipe. But the basic vanilla maple is my favorite. I like to sprinkle chocolate chips on it before serving.

Raw Milk Ice Cream

Ingredients:

4 cups of raw milk. When raw milk sits, the cream will rise to the top. Do not shake the milk before pouring so that you get all that yummy cream in your ice cream.

3/4 cup of brawn sugar

1/4 cups of maple syrup. The one at Costco is delicious and a great price. See my post here for what our family of 5 buys from Costco.

2 tsp of vanilla

Vanilla beans from one vanilla bean pod.

Madagascar vanilla beans

Raw Milk Ice Cream

Recipe:

Start by whisking your milk, sugar, vanilla, syrup, and vanilla beans together. Then, take your frozen tub for your ice cream maker out of the freezer. Pour in your mixed ingredients and start per your ice cream maker’s instructions. Let it run for 30 minutes.

Place the labels on your ice cream containers before adding the ice cream. Scoop the ice cream into your 16 oz. ice cream containers. The ice cream will be fairly soft at this point. You can enjoy the ice cream now or place in the freezer overnight for extra frozen cream. If you would like to download a copy of the ice cream label please enter email below to download. My family often can’t wait overnight for the ice cream, so we eat it when it’s a little softer. This classic Zeroll 1 ounce ice cream scoop makes the perfect little scoop and fits well in the 16 oz ice cream containers.

Yes, it is. Especially when it’s cold.
