Patio and Grill (day 2 of 5 ~ spring cleaning checklist)

Today was day 2 of 5 on the homestead spring cleaning checklist. The focus for today was getting the patio seating area and grill ready for spring barbecues.

Here are my previous posts with the spring cleaning checklist and my favorite cleaning supplies and our day 1 of 5 cleaning in the garden.

We started by knocking down all of the cobwebs.  I am terribly afraid of spiders, so my brave little boy volunteered to help by knocking them down with a broom for me.

Knocking down cobwebs

Cleaning the seating area was next on the list. First, sweeping off all of the leaves. Then, wiping the seats and table down with a wet rag. For stubborn spots, a magic eraser comes in handy.  It’s amazing how well those magic erasers work.

Lastly,  it was time for the grill. Cleaning the outside of the grill with a damp rag. Getting all of the pollen and dirt off. Then, I turned on the grill in order to get it nice and hot. Burning off old food and debris. I used grill tongs and a damp paper towel to clean the hot grates. I was able to move the  hot grates by using these amazing heat proof gloves. My husband uses them for grilling all the time. He loves how easy they are to clean.

I hope your spring cleaning journey is going well. It always feels so good to be able to check things off of the list. We have company coming this weekend, so this was the perfect time for us to start our spring cleaning.
